14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009

Once again I am cooking from a cookbook that I purchased while in California Wine Country.  I always cook with a wine I enjoy drinking (yes it's in the recipe).

14 Hands 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is from Washington state and the grapes are sourced from various regions in the state.  Not 100% Cabernet - Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petite Verdot are also blended in.  A subtle aroma of  red fruit and hint of cocoa, with a flavor of cherry and chocolate.  The tannins are smooth and this is well balanced.  Another favorite of mine that I recommend to customers.

Winemaker's Notes: 14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon features aromas of red currants and raspberries with subtle hints of spice. Spiced cherry & plum flavors are joined by notes of cocoa and complemented by fine, velvety tannins.  Pairs well with Tomato-basil bruschetta, eggplant parmesan, herb crusted prime rib, grilled beef steak, hearty venison stew.
